Due to budgetary constraints, the Gwinnett County Police Department has changed the hours of operation for its Permit Unit (750 South Perry Street, Suite 200, Lawrenceville), which issues regulated business permits for alcohol serving, burglar/security alarm installer, escort/dating services, fortune telling and related practices, massage therapists, vehicle for hire, poolroom, pawn shop, precious metals, canvasser/solicitors, and individual permits requiring police approval. The new hours of operation are Monday – Thursday from 8:00am – 11:30am and 1:00pm – 4:30pm. Fingerprinting for concealed weapons permits will be conducted Monday – Thursday from 8:00am – 11:30am. Applications for vehicle for hire/taxi permits will be processed on Tuesdays from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. The office is closed to the public on Fridays. For more information, call 770.513.5206.
